MAKE ENERGY NOT FAT
Pure coconut oil is one of nature's richest sources of MCFAs (medium chain fatty acids). Back in the 1940's,
farmers tried using coconut oil to fatten their animals.
Much to their surprise, they found it made their animals
leaner and more active.
Since that time, studies have shown that replacing LCFAs
(long chain fatty acids) with MCFAs in the daily diet can
help decrease weight gain and reduce fat deposition. MCFAs
are not only converted into energy, but they can also help
boost metabolism.
That's because MCFAs shift the metabolism into a higher
gear burning more calories, which contributes to weight
loss!
A dietary fat that helps take off weight rather than
putting it on can be a very unfamiliar concept, but that's
exactly what happens as long as we don't eat excess
calories.
But wait! It gets even better. Because MCFAs are rapidly
burned and boost the metabolism, they even encourage
burning those less-desirable LCFAs. Replacing some of the
fats we now eat with MCFAs may be one of the best decisions
we can make to help lose excess body fat.
For many of us, we may not need to reduce our total fat
intake, but rather simply switch to a fat that is better
for us-one that boosts our metabolism and doesn't
contribute to weight gain. So yes, it does make sense.
Eating a "good" dose of fat can help you lose weight after
all.
